Job Title: Agricultural Educator
Teaching Assignments: This is mostly an AG Mechanics position with the possibility of some animal sciences.
Additional Duties: Advise a career-technical student organization for the development of industry recognized technical skills along with teaching and enhancing communication and interpersonal skills Model enthusiasm for Agricultural Science and Agricultural Mechanics that demonstrates current innovations in the industry, including competition within the global economy Provide safety instruction to prevent job related accidents. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with the physical limitations of the classroom and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved Prepare students academically for district, state, and federal testing as well as Technical Skills Assessment Establish and maintain industry and post-secondary connections to promote/encourage students’ participation in continuing education opportunities Identify, select, and purchase equipment and supplies necessary to support classroom instruction within budget constraints Assist with and maintain active Technical Advisory Committees and hold required meetings to improve the Agricultural Science and Natural Resources program Collaborate with community and local Agri-Businesses throughout the year for classroom, FFA and SAE opportunities Set and maintain standards for student behavior that establishes a positive and safe learning environment. Develop job shadow and intern opportunities for students Assess students on a regular basis and provide feedback to enable them and their parents to monitor their progress Implement CTE and Idaho Core Standards, as well as the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives, in lesson plans, classroom instruction, unit planning, and assessments Follow modifications and accommodations as specified in Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
