Filer High School
Position Open until Filled (preferable by June 17th.) Filer Agriculture Department is a dynamic program planning to add a 3rd agriculture teacher to the program. Filer Agriculture offers students a wide range of courses as well as 2 pathways and plans to add a 3rd pathway in 2025-26. Our Program/Chapter is affiliated with 218 Student/FFA Members. with a total of 500 students enrolled at FHS. Courses offered include Plant Sciences, Agriculture Biology, Floral Design/Adv Floral Design, Small Engines, Ag Mechanics, Animal Science Pathway, Ag Welding Pathway. Position potentially, could include 8th Grade Middle School Ag Exploration courses.
Facilities at FHS: 4 Classrooms, computer lab, Floral Lab, 2 Shops, Greenhouse, storage. The Filer School District is a rural agriculturally based bedroom community of Twin Falls. The student population includes a dynamic mix of agriculture families and those that are employed in the vast opportunities in the Twin Falls area.

Additional Duties: We have an FFA chapter, but it has not been utilized the past 2 years as we had a teacher on an alt auth plan. Didn't want to overwhelm him. We can discuss summer contracts with potential candidates.
Additional School Information: 6,000 sq ft shop built in 1980. Metal shop on the east side, wood shop on the west side, and a large classroom in between. New plasma table 4 years ago. Walk in cooler for food processing. Community has always been very supportive of our ag program. We have great students who thrive in this arena. Competitive teacher salary, we moved tot he state insurance plan 2 years ago which is the best insurance you can get.
